Divorce around the Holidays:
How to Manage Emotions, Stress and Family Dynamics
By Author: Noemi Eva
Every family has its “divorced” sibling or parent. Divorce can
be a tremendous blow to our self-worth whether we leave or were
left – neither is easy. Holidays are the hardest blow, with
loss of connection, alienation and disconnection from friends
connected to our spouse. It can lead to depression and worse.
But say’s Noemi Eva, author of Out of Eden , a true life novel
about her own divorces and romances, we can rebuild and mend
our lives and find a way to bring the joy back to holidays and
daily life. Today’s families do invite ex-husbands and wives
to holiday rituals and this can bring the normalcy back for
the children and the ex’s too. Many couples alternate the years
where one spouse has the children and this can work as well.
Holidays are a great time to forgive and forget and to open
the doors for spouses and old friends to get comfortable with
the new roles the couples are playing. Says Noemi, friends need
to be taught to let go and let god. We can demonstrate neutrality
rather than lashing out at our ex at every opportunity. It has
become the custom in families to alienate a spouse, but that
doesn't’t work in the long run. It teaches children that relationships
are disposable.
Surviving separation, divorce, economic hardship and more are
all subjects Noemi Eva tangles in her book, Out of Eden- A Manual
for Women. Born in Hungary , raised in Brazil , and now long
time Toronto resident, Noemi ’s first novel reflects the author’s
true life experiences with divorce, separation and the creative
ways she rebuilt her life and raised her children.
Noemi has dedicated much of her life to teaching women how to
raise their self esteem through managing their finances, learning
real estate investment, shopping with awareness and other keys.
